SAFEGUARDING
At Bugthorpe and Sutton upon Derwent C of E Federation, the safety and wellbeing of every child is our highest priority. We are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff, governors, and volunteers to share this commitment. We always have in our minds, that 'it could happen here' and that safeguarding is 'everyone's responsibility'.
There may be rare occasions when concerns about a child mean that we have to consult other agencies even before we contact the parents. The East Riding Safeguarding Children Board has laid down the procedures we follow, and the school has adopted a Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy in line with this to ensure the safety of everyone.
The Federation are part of Operation Encompass which is a police and education early information safeguarding partnership enabling schools to offer immediate support to children experiencing domestic abuse. Click here for more information.
